Dr. Michael J. Economides is one of the most instantly recognizable names in the energy, petroleum and chemical industries for his seminal contributions to the global articulation of the critical issues and his signifi cant role in technology development and application.
Dr. Economides is a Professor at the Cullen College of Engineering, University of Houston, teaching and conducting research in both chemical and petroleum engineering.
His areas of interest include petroleum production and petroleum management, a particular emphasis on natural gas, natural gas transportation, LNG, CNG and processing, advances in process design of very complex operations, economics and geopolitics.
Publications include authoring/co-authoring of 11 textbooks and about 200 journal papers and chapters in books. Charlie gained experience in environmental consulting in petrochemical and waste management sectors in America during the 1980s.
As a founder of OTEK Australia in 1991, he was pivotal establishing standard technical operating procedures for the company and expanding OTEKs coverage throughout Australia.
He now serves as OTEKs Head of Audit and performs contaminated sites audits in all Australian states and territories with auditor (or equivalent) accreditations/appointments from: EPA Victoria, NSW DECCW, WA DEC, SA EPA; and Queensland DERM.
Charlie has a Bachelor of Science degree in geology from Auburn University, USA.
