Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment

Failure to identify hazards on a regular basis can be cause for prosecution.

Robust inspection programs and conduct of risk assessments can keep employees safe and your managers out of jail!

OTEK has experienced safety practitioners that can conduct comprehensive analyses of work environments and can develop OH&S risk assessments specific to activities, tasks, work areas or plant/equipment.

OTEK uses risk assessment guides and tools that comply with Statutory guidelines, Codes of Practice and the Australian Standard 4360.

A robust process should include the following steps:

  • The identification of factors that may be contributing to the risk,
  • A review health and safety information that is relevant to the particular hazard,
  • Evaluation of the likelihood of an injury or illness occurring and the likely severity of an injury or illness that may occur; and
  • Identification of the actions necessary to eliminate or control the risk.

OTEK can establish a user friendly system of regular hazard identification/risk assessment that can be self-monitored or have ongoing assistance such as annual inspection by one of our expert team.
