Environmental solutions firm, OTEK further boost Resources sector expertise


Environmental engineering and solutions company, OTEK Australia, has appointed Ric Scofield as Principal Environmental Advisor to further extend the expertise available to the Oil and Gas and Resource sectors. His role will focus on delivering strategic advice to key clients primarily, as part of OTEK’s partnership arrangement with ARCADIS.

With over 35 years local and global experience in the Oil and Gas and Mining industry, Scofield is one of the most highly qualified environmental advisers in the country. Prior to joining OTEK, he was Global Technical Remediation Manager for Oil and Gas giant BP and Director of the Global Environmental Management consultancy.

Commenting on the move, OTEK Director Grant Scott, said, “Ric adds a further dimension to the advice and support we can give clients in the Resources sector. No matter how big, or specialised, the project, OTEK is able to deliver full service environmental engineering solutions.”

Scofield’s list of achievements is extensive and ranges from being the principal managing consultant for all contaminated land issues for BP Oil in Australia, New Zealand and South West Pacific and developing models to predict mine subsidence effects on land surface; through to conducting clean-up of PCB contaminated soils, sludge and pits in an oilfield and being rresponsible for all civil engineering and coal preparation plant at Turris Coal Company.
